Ultimate Book Tag

I saw this on The Book Babe's Reads and thought it looked fun, it must be an old tag has she posted it in January of 2013 but I didn't have a blog then so I'm going to do it now. Also, if you're like me and want to do this tag, just consider yourself tagged by me and have fun.

Questions:

1)  Do you get sick while reading in the car?
I didn't used to as a kid, but I do now. It makes me nauseous. Which sucks...

2) Which author's writing style is completely unique to you and why?
Jennifer L Armentrout: I can't really say why as I'm not sure myself but I could pick her writing out of random pile easily.

3) Harry Potter Series or the Twilight Saga? Give 3 points to defend your answer.
My boyfriend would kill me if he knew what my answer is, but since he doesn't read my blog I'm free to speak my mind lol. Twilight.
1) I love romance, a lot. From what my boyfriend has told me of HP and I've seen the movies and plus my bf kind of hates romance... yeah Twilight has tons of romance and HP doesn't.
2) I love vampires. I've always wanted to be one since I was in 7th grade.
3) I love how much detail went into even the side characters.

4)  Do you carry a book bag? If so, what is it in (besides books...)?
Nope. I carry a diaper bag...

5) Do you smell your books?
Yes, I love the new book smell. I wish I could buy it as an air fresher lol. I don't really like how most old books smell because they just smell musty where they've sat so long.

6) Books with or without little illustrations?
I prefer my books w/out them, if I want to look at pictures them I'll grab a manga or graphic novel.

7) What book did you love while reading but discovered later it wasn't quality writing? (Ex. I read Twilight before I read HP and thought the writing was amazing but read HP and now think Twilight is a little bit of a joke.)
Um... I don't know. Seriously. Sorry.

8) Do you have any funny stories involving books from your childhood? Please share!
Not really from my childhood but I got one from 9th grade. I went to a boarding school at the time and the whole school was having some kind of baseball game. I hate baseball, (playing or watching), so I decided not hide so no one would make me play. I sat under a tree and read a Daughters of the Moon book. I ended up forgetting the book when the teacher blew the whistle and had to run back to my dorm. It rained that night and when I went back the next day, the book sat under the tree dry...

9) What is the thinnest book on your shelf?
Elixir by Jennifer L Armentrout. It's only 74 pages.

10)  What is the thickest book on your shelf?
A Storm of Swords by George R. R. Martin. It's 1177 pages.

11) Do you write as well as read? Do you see yourself in the future as being an author?
Yes, I'm currently writing a new adult paranormal trilogy, I may end up posting a few chapters on my blog if you guys want.

12)  When did you get into reading?
5/6th grade

13)  What is your favorite classic book?
I can't name one so I'll give you three:
1) The Scarlet Letter
2) Wuthering Heights
3)  A Midsummer Night's Dream

14)  In school was your best subject Language Arts/English?
I loved English, I always made high marks in AP English. But Somehow even though I'm not really the biggest fan of math, I always made better marks...

15) If you were given a book as a present that you had read before and hated...what would you do?
Take it to Half Price Books and trade it in to get a book I did like.

16)  What is a lesser known series that you know of that is similar to Harry Potter or the Hunger Games?
I don't know... sorry.

17) What is a bad habit you always do (besides rambling) while blogging?
I tend to get sidetracked and before I know it I'm watching some book trailer on youtube or something lol.

18) What is your favorite word?
I don't really have one... but I know the word I'm always saying is 'sorry'.

19) Are you a nerd, dork, or dweeb? Or all of the above?
I consider myself a nerd but everyone who has met me says I'm either the preppy or the alternative girl.

20) Vampires or Fairies? Why?
I can't even answer this question... I can't choose. Sorry. I love them both way too much.

21) Shape-shifters or Angels? Why?
Shape-shifters, they are more badass, I guess.

22)  Spirits or Werewolves? Why?
Spirits, easy. Werewolves are kind of gross to me.

23)  Zombies or Vampires?
Hard one to choose...... but..... Vampires. They are sexy and powerful.

24) Love Triangle or Forbidden Love?
Can't choose... both are totally awesome.

25) AND FINALLY: Full on romance books or action-packed with a few love scenes mixed in?
Both but I will lean a little more towards full on romance.

(Pride) Book Review - Sagittarius Saves Libra

True love is on the horizon, Sagittarius. It’s a good time to step out of your routine and into the unknown. Jason Lyall wants someone to come home to, someone he can be his most ridiculous self with. Someone who loves him regardless. But no matter how hard he tries, he can never quite make that connection, and now his last girlfriend has moved on—she’s engaged. So when his identical twin begs him to swap lives for a few weeks, Jason can see the appeal. Suddenly he’s living another life in a tiny Australian town, contending with weird, wild, and wonderful things the likes of which he’s never encountered before. Like spiders. Like snakes. Like his new neighbour, Sergeant Owen Stirling, who is all kinds of . . . suspicious. Prepare to be caught in a merry mix-up, Libra. It’s a dance of side-stepping and seduction. Book Breakdown I did not know this was coming! When I woke up on June 1st and saw an email from Amazon saying the author dropped a new book in this series... I lost it! I hones

Music Monday - Recent Plays

This fun meme is hosted over at Always Me   I listened to a lot of music over this past week because I've been on fall break. It's been pretty good minus all the tornadoes and bad weather, but today the high was only around 70! That's amazing for this part of Oklahoma.  The music I've been vibing to is darker sounding songs since it's so close to Halloween! This year my partner and I are gonna crave pumpkins that always and then I'm gonna go with a friend on a train ride. She said she's done it before and it's fun. I'm hoping she'd right!  But for now, to the songs! Sooooooo what did you think? Let me know below and have a great week! Stay safe, wear a mask, and happy reading!

Bisexual Erasure (Pride Month)

Happy Pride! Since today is bisexual day, I wanted to talk about something important to me. I hope you'll listen with open ears, mind, and heart. Thank you.  I’ve seen this happening for years now. People will say things like, “it’s a phase” or “pick a side.” I’ve even seen some say that bisexual people only like cisgender men and women and exclude all other genders. Which isn’t always the case. Sure, some bisexual people feel that way, which is why pansexual and other names came into play. But at its core, being bisexual just means that you’re attracted to more than just one gender.  I’ve never hidden on this blog the fact that I’m bisexual but I rarely talk about the struggles I feel because it just never felt right when you have gay people that have to hide their complete selves for fear of what the world could do to them.  Or trans people who spend every day trapped in the wrong body and can’t tell anyone to get the things they need to be their truth selves.  Put against issues
