Sunny Sunday's Updates

So I've been trying to find a way to show weekly updates on my blog and I've seen a few memes that do this and I've tried one and it was just too much. I couldn't find one that worked for me. So I just decided to make my own little update. This way I can just update you guys on what is going on with me while all the other stuff.

So here we go!

Currently Reading

              ReMade 1.3                                                                                             Amber Smoke

I've not made any progress on Amber Smoke, I will finish this book before the end of the month! I don't know if I'll write a review as I won't really have anything good to say unless it somehow gets better. I'm almost half way done and still nothing that screams at me to finish or even read the next one. Ugh.

As for ReMade, it's really cool. I'm enjoying following these teens as they try to figure out what's going on, though I still know nothing. So many questions and no answers at all.

Last Week's Reading

I read the first two serials in the ReMade series and I also finished up a book from NetGalley. They were all pretty good actually. I enjoyed them all and I always love when I enjoyed a new series that I know nothing about. It's like finding a diamond in the rough. Here's what I read last week.

Life Updates

I actually only have to work three days this week! THREE DAYS!!!! But on those days I'm working 13 hour shifts... which sucks but I will take it if it means I can be off for four days. Just think of all the reading I can get done! Or all the blogging! Maybe I can finally go to the bookstore! I have some books to sell and I'd like to get some more. Because seriously, we are bookworms, we love books and often get more.

I've seen some people who actually get offended by the term 'bookworm', do you guys feel that way? I don't care, I've been a bookworm for years and it's like a title of pride for me. But everyone is different. Some people get offended at the drop of a hat these days.

On the Blog Last Week

On Monday I showed off Lady Gaga's awesome new song.

On Tuesday, I told My Reading Story.

On Wednesday I revealed my Waiting on Wednesday

On Saturday I gave an awesome 50/50 Friday update. If you've not read that yet, you should check it out!

Coming Up on the Blog

I've got some reviews coming up, a Music Monday, and even a long discussion on diversity.

(Pride) Book Review - Sagittarius Saves Libra

True love is on the horizon, Sagittarius. It’s a good time to step out of your routine and into the unknown. Jason Lyall wants someone to come home to, someone he can be his most ridiculous self with. Someone who loves him regardless. But no matter how hard he tries, he can never quite make that connection, and now his last girlfriend has moved on—she’s engaged. So when his identical twin begs him to swap lives for a few weeks, Jason can see the appeal. Suddenly he’s living another life in a tiny Australian town, contending with weird, wild, and wonderful things the likes of which he’s never encountered before. Like spiders. Like snakes. Like his new neighbour, Sergeant Owen Stirling, who is all kinds of . . . suspicious. Prepare to be caught in a merry mix-up, Libra. It’s a dance of side-stepping and seduction. Book Breakdown I did not know this was coming! When I woke up on June 1st and saw an email from Amazon saying the author dropped a new book in this series... I lost it! I hones

Short Update + The Stand-In Book Review

I've been lurking around your blogs for a few hours today and trying to catch up but I doubt I will. I've just missed so much! Sorry!  Today, I'm feeling a little bit better so I thought I would update you guys, since I've not blogged any in two weeks. The posts you've seen since then are just ones that I had scheduled for a while. I'm on the hunt for an anxiety medicine and had a really bad reaction to one my doctor put me on. I'm currently on steroids for a week to help that reaction.  Also, my grandma passed away recently and I've been trying to deal with that and help my family. They are really having it rough right now and it's been killing me trying to help them.  Then there's stuff with my kiddo. So yeah, I've been gone for a bit and dealing with things. I'm really hoping to get straightened out and get back to normal because this has been a sucky time.  Onto something bookish! I did manage to finish a book before everything kinda

Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup - Review

The full inside story of the breathtaking rise and shocking collapse of a multibillion-dollar startup, by the prize-winning journalist who first broke the story and pursued it to the end in the face of pressure and threats from the CEO and her lawyers. In 2014, Theranos founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes was widely seen as the female Steve Jobs: a brilliant Stanford dropout whose startup "unicorn" promised to revolutionize the medical industry with a machine that would make blood tests significantly faster and easier. Backed by investors such as Larry Ellison and Tim Draper, Theranos sold shares in a fundraising round that valued the company at $9 billion, putting Holmes's worth at an estimated $4.7 billion. There was just one problem: The technology didn't work. For years, Holmes had been misleading investors, FDA officials, and her own employees. When Carreyrou, working at The Wall Street Journal, got a tip from a former Theranos employee and started asking questions,
