NaNoWriMo 2017

So it's almost here. That time of the year where my anxiety level goes through the roof and I start to question my own insanity... oh don't worry, I'm just talking about NaNoWriMo. I'm sure everyone know what that is but just in case you don't, let me explain.

It lasts the whole month of November. The goal is to write 50,000 in that month. Yeah, lots of words in a short amount of time. I often find myself deciding if I should run away into the middle of nowhere so I have an excuse for not writing but I just can't do that. It's not in my nature.

I've actually made it the last two years I've done NaNoWriMo... which is also the only years I've done this. So I feel very proud of myself and I hope to keep that up.

Though usually I'm better prepared. This time, all I got is the simple plot which may change as I'm sure I like everything yet.

It's about a girl whose mother remarries and that leaves her and her younger sister to deal with four guys as the mother and father jet off for their honeymoon. The sister is a lesbian and one of the brother's is gay. They don't get along very well at all. Our Main girl: Raven, starts to develop feelings for one of the brothers but doesn't know the secrets his family hides. On the plane ride, their parents are killed.... and things start to heat up. Raven is thrown into a world she never knew existed, all the while trying to find the money to keep the family home and make sure her sister is safe and sound before she goes off to college.

Ugh, see what I mean? It's freaking everywhere. I am still trying to put the pieces together and figure out how I want to end this story... if it's a standalone or if it's a series. I don't know and it makes me want to rip my hair out... or cry in my bed.

So will you be joining in for NaNoWriMo? What's your idea if you are? Let me know below!

(Pride) Book Review - Sagittarius Saves Libra

True love is on the horizon, Sagittarius. It’s a good time to step out of your routine and into the unknown. Jason Lyall wants someone to come home to, someone he can be his most ridiculous self with. Someone who loves him regardless. But no matter how hard he tries, he can never quite make that connection, and now his last girlfriend has moved on—she’s engaged. So when his identical twin begs him to swap lives for a few weeks, Jason can see the appeal. Suddenly he’s living another life in a tiny Australian town, contending with weird, wild, and wonderful things the likes of which he’s never encountered before. Like spiders. Like snakes. Like his new neighbour, Sergeant Owen Stirling, who is all kinds of . . . suspicious. Prepare to be caught in a merry mix-up, Libra. It’s a dance of side-stepping and seduction. Book Breakdown I did not know this was coming! When I woke up on June 1st and saw an email from Amazon saying the author dropped a new book in this series... I lost it! I hones

Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup - Review

The full inside story of the breathtaking rise and shocking collapse of a multibillion-dollar startup, by the prize-winning journalist who first broke the story and pursued it to the end in the face of pressure and threats from the CEO and her lawyers. In 2014, Theranos founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes was widely seen as the female Steve Jobs: a brilliant Stanford dropout whose startup "unicorn" promised to revolutionize the medical industry with a machine that would make blood tests significantly faster and easier. Backed by investors such as Larry Ellison and Tim Draper, Theranos sold shares in a fundraising round that valued the company at $9 billion, putting Holmes's worth at an estimated $4.7 billion. There was just one problem: The technology didn't work. For years, Holmes had been misleading investors, FDA officials, and her own employees. When Carreyrou, working at The Wall Street Journal, got a tip from a former Theranos employee and started asking questions,

Short Update + The Stand-In Book Review

I've been lurking around your blogs for a few hours today and trying to catch up but I doubt I will. I've just missed so much! Sorry!  Today, I'm feeling a little bit better so I thought I would update you guys, since I've not blogged any in two weeks. The posts you've seen since then are just ones that I had scheduled for a while. I'm on the hunt for an anxiety medicine and had a really bad reaction to one my doctor put me on. I'm currently on steroids for a week to help that reaction.  Also, my grandma passed away recently and I've been trying to deal with that and help my family. They are really having it rough right now and it's been killing me trying to help them.  Then there's stuff with my kiddo. So yeah, I've been gone for a bit and dealing with things. I'm really hoping to get straightened out and get back to normal because this has been a sucky time.  Onto something bookish! I did manage to finish a book before everything kinda
