50/50 Friday - Ugly Cover With the Best Story/Gorgeous Cover With the Worst Story

0/50 Friday is hosted here on this blog and over at Blue Eye Books.

What is 50/50 Friday?
Everyone has a favorite and then we also have something we dislike. Like a coin, there are two sides to every question. Example: best sequel you've read/worst sequel you've read. So that's what 50/50 Friday is all about. We will have a new topic every Friday. If you have have ideas for this meme don't be scared to let us know!

I actually couldn't think of anything with a great cover but bad story so I'll be giving two ugly covers with a great story!

Ugly Cover/Great Story
I lov Holes, the movie, the book, everything but this cover... what were they thinking?

Another one with an amazing story but the cover just.... yeah.

  1. I love Holes, the book and the movie but I agree the cover isn't so good.

    1. Yeah I don't know what they were thinking when it came to the cover...

  2. When I first saw your covers, I felt bad because I don't care for either one--but then I read what you had to say, and I'm relieved it isn't just me. Haha. I have heard great things about Holes. And Undone sounds like something I would like, even if the cover isn't the best.

    1. It's not just you at all! So don't even feel bad. I fully recommend Undone and the whole Unknown series. It's so worth it!

  3. I dislike those covers so much! I read Holes a long time ago and enjoyed it as well. I think the worst part of that cover is the design for the boy on the front. It looks out of place and disproportionate.

  4. I completely agree with Holes! It's such a great story (and one of the rare very good movie adaptations) but that cover is so bland. It doesn't tell you anything that the title couldn't.
