Mine to Possess - Review

A Psy/Changeling novel from the New York Times bestselling author of Shards of Hope, Shield of Winter, and Heart of Obsidian..."the alpha author of paranormal romance" (Booklist). A ghost returns from a leopard changeling's past, making him question everything - even his base animal instincts...

Clay Bennett is a powerful DarkRiver sentinel, but he grew up in the slums with his human mother, never knowing his changeling father. As a young boy without the bonds of Pack, he tried to stifle his animal nature. He failed...and committed the most extreme act of violence, killing a man and losing his best friend, Talin, in the bloody aftermath. Everything good in him died the day he was told that she, too, was dead.

Talin McKade barely survived a childhood drenched in bloodshed and terror. Now a new nightmare is stalking her life - the street children she works to protect are disappearing and turning up dead. Determined to keep them safe, she unlocks the darkest secret in her heart, and steels herself to ask the help of the strongest man she knows...

Clay lost Talin once. He will not let her go again, his hunger to possess her is a clawing need born of the leopard within. As they race to save the innocent, Clay and Talin must face the violent truths of their past, or risk losing everything that ever mattered to them.

Book Breakdown

Tally has been hiding from Clay for years. Even going as far as to tell him she's dead but when kids start going missing, she's willing to brave her past and meet Clay head on to save anyone else from such a dark fate.

I saw a lot of reviews that said this one was one of the weaker in the series and I don't see how, this feels like a huge turning point to me.

Clay and Tally are wonderful characters, I loved reading about their past and watching them slowly come back together. Cute as can be! They worked through so . many issues and each time came out stronger and closer than ever. Just like a real relationship.

I also thought that the way her 'sickness' was handled was pretty cool. I didn't that coming and was very happy that the book ended on a happy note. I'm starting to think this whole series will do that and I'm so ready for it! Give me all the Happily Ever Afters! That's why I read, to get away from the darkness in real life.

Overall, there's steam, cute moments, hot Alpha guys, girls who are freaking awesome and even some spilled blood. Always got to have a little blood. This series is perfect for those that love shifter romance.

  1. As I watched two very bloody movies recently I am a bit done with blood for the moment but this series does sound good, especially the happy endings.
