July Warp Up!

Wow, July just flew by! But I'm also dreading back to school time so... that makes it seem like it's just looming ever closer. I only read 12 books this month. I've really been slowing down this year, I'm not going to crack 200 books like I normally do. But it's the quality of the books not the quantity.

With that said, let's just jump into it shall we butterflies?

Manga

I'd never even heard of this book until I came across Passonflix, I watched the movie first, then read the book and now I'm in love. It's a cute southern romance and I want more of these. I love southern romances but most deal with cowboys. That's not my cup of tea. So to get one like this makes my little southern heart so happy.

It's well written, funny at times and moves at a great pace. Never a dull moment. I mean, it's enemies to lovers! What's not to love?!

If you've read the book then you HAVE to watch the movie on Passonflix, it's worth it.

Pagan/New Age

(Review Coming Next Week!)

This is not what I was hoping for at all. It's Wiccan but with a slight Norse twist. Not the Norse tradition at all. If you're into Norse Wicca then this is for you, otherwise.... stay away.

  1. Dark Lover is the only one of these books that I've read. I liked it.

  2. I've read Jeannette Winterson's autobiography and appreciated her honesty about the difficulties in her relationship with her mother. A tough situation

    1. Yes! I don't think I could handle a situation like that and come out like she did.

  3. I also get down when my number of books read drops. But sometimes other stuff happens. Right now I am reading two long, difficult books though not unwillingly. It just takes longer to get through but I am getting what I came for. I keep telling myself it is the quality not the quantity. Right?

    1. That's what I keep telling myself too, quality over quantity. Honestly, I mean if I were reading 300 books a year but hated all of them... that would suck. I'd rather read 100 and love those books to pieces!

  4. Ooo Hollywood Dirt sounds so good! I need more contemporary romances in my life and I also don't really appreciate dealing with cowboys all. the. time. Definitely going on my TBR :) I hope you have a great August, Carrie!
