A Chat (Blood and Ash + Writing Rambles + Shadow & Bone)

It’s been a hot minute since I did an actual blog post. So I just wanted to have a chat with you.

I’ve been editing two of my novels so I can query them. I’ve also been editing another story I wrote years ago for Wattpad. It’s one that I just don’t think could ever get published but I still like the story, figured why not share it?

I’ve been reading a lot! Just finished a 600-page book in two days and then started devouring the next in the series. I ADORED From Blood and Ash and loved the first half of the second one, but then there was mention of a threesome... I’m just not into that. I even spoiled myself to see if it happens in the third one. Fingers crossed that doesn’t happen in the series. It would just ruin this series for me and I’d hate that because From Blood and Ash was just perfect! I have no complaints about it! I will be posting a review soonish.

So I’m hoping this series can stay epic and not fall into the dark depths of Hades. Yes, I can be overly dramatic, but I really hope she doesn’t add a threesome. This may not be popular anymore but in romance books I like Alpha guys. Which is hilarious because in actual life I can’t stand Alpha dudes. Makes no sense to me, honestly.

With my writing, I’ve found this new program called ProWritingAid and I’ve been LOVING it! When writing, I have the worst habit of writing passively and ProWritingAid finds all those mistakes and helps me correct them! I’ve been running my novels through it to help with editing. It does all the basic things also like grammar but it also tells sentence length, grade reading level and so much more! It’s not cheap, but I feel it was an excellent investment.

I’ve yet to watch Shadow & Bone on Netflix but I know everyone is raving on it. I never read Six of Crows so I’m kinda on the fence. Plus, I loved the Dark One and not Mal... So I’m not sure if I’ll watch it. Have you seen it? Did you like it?

So what have you read recently? Anything good? Let me know! I’m still hunting for great vampire books so if you got any, please leave them below!

I guess that’s it for this post. I hope you stay safe and have a great day!

(Pride) Book Review - Sagittarius Saves Libra

True love is on the horizon, Sagittarius. It’s a good time to step out of your routine and into the unknown. Jason Lyall wants someone to come home to, someone he can be his most ridiculous self with. Someone who loves him regardless. But no matter how hard he tries, he can never quite make that connection, and now his last girlfriend has moved on—she’s engaged. So when his identical twin begs him to swap lives for a few weeks, Jason can see the appeal. Suddenly he’s living another life in a tiny Australian town, contending with weird, wild, and wonderful things the likes of which he’s never encountered before. Like spiders. Like snakes. Like his new neighbour, Sergeant Owen Stirling, who is all kinds of . . . suspicious. Prepare to be caught in a merry mix-up, Libra. It’s a dance of side-stepping and seduction. Book Breakdown I did not know this was coming! When I woke up on June 1st and saw an email from Amazon saying the author dropped a new book in this series... I lost it! I hones

Music Monday - Recent Plays

This fun meme is hosted over at Always Me   I listened to a lot of music over this past week because I've been on fall break. It's been pretty good minus all the tornadoes and bad weather, but today the high was only around 70! That's amazing for this part of Oklahoma.  The music I've been vibing to is darker sounding songs since it's so close to Halloween! This year my partner and I are gonna crave pumpkins that always and then I'm gonna go with a friend on a train ride. She said she's done it before and it's fun. I'm hoping she'd right!  But for now, to the songs! Sooooooo what did you think? Let me know below and have a great week! Stay safe, wear a mask, and happy reading!
