Ranking The Twilight Films

I recently watched the films.... again, and it got me thinking, how would I rank them? And thus this post was born! Now, I know that right now Twilight is having a renaissance moment and people like it again. Now, I'm sure people will go back to hating this series later but hey, for now, it's cool. So let's roll with it.

This list is much different from the book list (which will come soon!). My favorite book is actually one of my least favorite movies. See if you can guess as we go! We're gonna start with my least favorite and work our way to the best.

5) New Moon

As someone who was/is Team Edward, I wasn't the biggest fan of this film. Not only because I liked Bella better with Edward, but I always just felt so bad for Jacob.

It never felt like a love triangle to me. It always felt like Bella was just using Jacob to keep living without Edward. It was so hard to watch Bella just.... stop being herself and kinda die while still being alive. IF that makes any sense.

I also didn't like the color pallet switch. I really love the moody, dark blue colors of Twilight and dislike that New Moon took that away from me.

4) Eclipse

I remember being so nervous when I went to see this at midnight on release day. The first movie I'd liked and New Moon had just... ripped apart my hopes and dreams. There was a 50/50 chance of this doing the same.

I will say that this installment was the last I saw in theaters if that tells you anything about it.

I just kept hoping it would get better.... that Kristen Stewart would get better... I don't think she can act and this series rested on her shoulders and to me.... she ruined Bella.

I do like the darker tone this one took. It was so much better than New Moon's brighter colors. It felt like a gloomy world and with an army ready to devour our favorite characters, that was fitting.

3) Breaking Dawn Part 1

Finally, the moment I'd been waiting for! We leave Jacob behind and get our happily ever after... oh wait.

Well... Jacob is still being a whiney baby, thinking he can somehow get Bella even after she's married. Blows up at her wedding when she tells me she's gonna be with her husband, like it's any of his breaking business and then right when we think everything is gonna be fine... it's not!

I do like the brighter colors in this one because the story is brighter. Bella is finally going to be with the love of her life and he will turn her.

But we're thrown for a very weird loop when Bella ends up pregnant... still wanna know how that works in this world...

2) Breaking Dawn Part 2

There are a few things that keep me from giving this the top spot. The terrible CGI baby, for one. What were they thinking?

The next is the whole imprinting on the baby. I know it doesn't work the way everyone always says, and it's nothing sexual till the kiddo ages, but that's like... grooming. Training the kid to know what's coming in the future.

Also, I don't know about you, but I would not want to be tied to a guy who kissed my mum and wanted to bang her... ew. I mean, if Alice had never come back, then Bella would've ended up with Jacob...

Also... if Jacob's actual soulmate is their baby... did he not feel any attraction for Edward? I'm just curious....

Least everything ended sweetly... sure made me ball like a baby seeing it.

1) Twilight

The movie that started it all. I had the posters, the shirts, the tote bags. You name it; I had it. I was so freaking excited about this. I even convinced my father to go tot he midnight release with me.

I remember everyone screaming when the Cullens first walked into the cafe. It felt so magical... then I kept watching and Kristen kept 'acting' and I felt a little disappointed.

I love the colors used in this film, it's perfect! And Robert Patterson really carries this film. I wish we could've seen more of the Cullens because I really enjoyed their casting.

Overall, I do really like these films and they hold a special place in my heart... just not the main leading lady.

So tell me, which is your favorite Twilight film? Or heck, if you want, I'd love to see your ranking! Let me know what else you'd like to see me rank! Lastly, keep your eyes peeled because the book ranking isn't too far off!

Thank you for stopping by my little corner of the internet. Have a great day and stay safe!
