Friday 5 - Book Adaptations

So the five can be connections of any kind. Books can have been read last year or any year. Books can be used more than once. They may not have been read yet. They might be ones you just bought or want to buy.  It can be as simple or as complicated as you like. Maybe it’s not a list of actual books, but things connected to books – e.g. favourite book shops, recipes etc. It might even be five movies related to books or five poems or five poets or five bookish moments, five thoughts about reading – be creative! - The Book Date

Everyone talks about book to movie adaptations and today I wanted to share 5 of my favorite book to TV adaptations! These aren't in any order.

Bridgerton season 1 is truly a masterpiece to me. Now, I did watch the first season before starting the books, so maybe I love it more than book readers. But I was so entranced. I watched it all in one sitting because I just couldn't stop!

Before we go any further, I want to say that these are my favorite adaptations, not that they are the most faithful to the books.

ONLY THE FIRST SEASON! I watched the second but didn't like it and never watched the rest, it should've been a one and done. Nothing has emotionally impacted me like this show. It was not scared to go into the dark and pull out the monsters.

I grew up with this show, I remember watching the very first episode on TV and feeling so terrible because they changed so much and I loved those so much but I kept watching and the show was very easy to separate from the books and just enjoy this awesome series for what it is. #TeamStefan '

This blew me away! I watched it on a whim one night when I couldn't sleep because I had a cold and it really helped me forget all the pain I was in. I was shocked by the ending and loved it all at the same time!

I couldn't love a show more than I love Outlander. To think it took me a very tries to actually get into. The first time I watched it, I didn't get the hype, it was so slow! But these characters just suck you in and refuse to let you go. I would love to be a part of this amazing family. I've always wanted a big family that actually cares about each other.

That's it for this week! Do you like any of these shows? If not, what's a TV adaptation that you enjoy? LEt me know below!

(Pride) Book Review - Sagittarius Saves Libra

True love is on the horizon, Sagittarius. It’s a good time to step out of your routine and into the unknown. Jason Lyall wants someone to come home to, someone he can be his most ridiculous self with. Someone who loves him regardless. But no matter how hard he tries, he can never quite make that connection, and now his last girlfriend has moved on—she’s engaged. So when his identical twin begs him to swap lives for a few weeks, Jason can see the appeal. Suddenly he’s living another life in a tiny Australian town, contending with weird, wild, and wonderful things the likes of which he’s never encountered before. Like spiders. Like snakes. Like his new neighbour, Sergeant Owen Stirling, who is all kinds of . . . suspicious. Prepare to be caught in a merry mix-up, Libra. It’s a dance of side-stepping and seduction. Book Breakdown I did not know this was coming! When I woke up on June 1st and saw an email from Amazon saying the author dropped a new book in this series... I lost it! I hones

Music Monday - Recent Plays

This fun meme is hosted over at Always Me   I listened to a lot of music over this past week because I've been on fall break. It's been pretty good minus all the tornadoes and bad weather, but today the high was only around 70! That's amazing for this part of Oklahoma.  The music I've been vibing to is darker sounding songs since it's so close to Halloween! This year my partner and I are gonna crave pumpkins that always and then I'm gonna go with a friend on a train ride. She said she's done it before and it's fun. I'm hoping she'd right!  But for now, to the songs! Sooooooo what did you think? Let me know below and have a great week! Stay safe, wear a mask, and happy reading!
