I'm actually in the middle of reading a few books which is great. If you've been around long enough you'll know that I used to read a lot of books but when my father passed in 2020, my entire life changed. I consider a good reading month two or three books these days when it used to be nearly 20 books a month.

So yeah, for me, this is a win!

I'm really enjoying all three books. So let me tell you a bit about them!

This one started out rough! I was crying so much that my partner took my book and hid it because he didn’t want to see me so sad. Gracie is having it rough! Her mother has Alzheimer’s, and she’s paying for a room for her to get the care she needs while trying to save up for a better place. It hit so hard because my grandma suffers from the same thing and she’s not doing too well right now.

But that’s not all! Gracie’s boss is a freaking jerk face! He’s sexually harassing her and then fires her when she won’t get on her knees for him. Ugh, monster.

I was about to put the book down because I honestly couldn’t handle anything darker. I’m too sensitive for dark themes like that.

But it’s coming around now that she’s agreed to switch places with the famous actress and I can’t wait to read more!

So far, this feels like another run-of-the-mill paranormal romance. Nothing mind blowing, but it’s going to be a fun ride!

We follow Julian and Thea in a duel POV. Julian is a very rich vampire that just woke up from sleeping for decades. Because his mother wants him to get married. Thea is just trying to make it as a musician when she gets caught up in his world.

I’m not far into this one either. So far, Julian just saved her from a hungry vampire and took her home. He’s also told her what he is.

There’s a lot of sexual tension in this one. So if you like spice, I can tell this one is going to have some!

Okay, I’ve only read one chapter of this one, but I already love the hero. He’s a vet! I mean, really, a hot vet. Need I say more?

This one feels like it’s going to be a fun romance with heavier moments, and I’m really down for that!

That's it for this post! Please tell me what you're reading below! I'd love to know! Until next time, stay safe and happy reading!

(Pride) Book Review - Sagittarius Saves Libra

True love is on the horizon, Sagittarius. It’s a good time to step out of your routine and into the unknown. Jason Lyall wants someone to come home to, someone he can be his most ridiculous self with. Someone who loves him regardless. But no matter how hard he tries, he can never quite make that connection, and now his last girlfriend has moved on—she’s engaged. So when his identical twin begs him to swap lives for a few weeks, Jason can see the appeal. Suddenly he’s living another life in a tiny Australian town, contending with weird, wild, and wonderful things the likes of which he’s never encountered before. Like spiders. Like snakes. Like his new neighbour, Sergeant Owen Stirling, who is all kinds of . . . suspicious. Prepare to be caught in a merry mix-up, Libra. It’s a dance of side-stepping and seduction. Book Breakdown I did not know this was coming! When I woke up on June 1st and saw an email from Amazon saying the author dropped a new book in this series... I lost it! I hones

Short Update + The Stand-In Book Review

I've been lurking around your blogs for a few hours today and trying to catch up but I doubt I will. I've just missed so much! Sorry!  Today, I'm feeling a little bit better so I thought I would update you guys, since I've not blogged any in two weeks. The posts you've seen since then are just ones that I had scheduled for a while. I'm on the hunt for an anxiety medicine and had a really bad reaction to one my doctor put me on. I'm currently on steroids for a week to help that reaction.  Also, my grandma passed away recently and I've been trying to deal with that and help my family. They are really having it rough right now and it's been killing me trying to help them.  Then there's stuff with my kiddo. So yeah, I've been gone for a bit and dealing with things. I'm really hoping to get straightened out and get back to normal because this has been a sucky time.  Onto something bookish! I did manage to finish a book before everything kinda

Bad Blood: Secrets and Lies in a Silicon Valley Startup - Review

The full inside story of the breathtaking rise and shocking collapse of a multibillion-dollar startup, by the prize-winning journalist who first broke the story and pursued it to the end in the face of pressure and threats from the CEO and her lawyers. In 2014, Theranos founder and CEO Elizabeth Holmes was widely seen as the female Steve Jobs: a brilliant Stanford dropout whose startup "unicorn" promised to revolutionize the medical industry with a machine that would make blood tests significantly faster and easier. Backed by investors such as Larry Ellison and Tim Draper, Theranos sold shares in a fundraising round that valued the company at $9 billion, putting Holmes's worth at an estimated $4.7 billion. There was just one problem: The technology didn't work. For years, Holmes had been misleading investors, FDA officials, and her own employees. When Carreyrou, working at The Wall Street Journal, got a tip from a former Theranos employee and started asking questions,
