The Raven King - Review

The fourth and final installment in the spellbinding series from the irrepressible, #1 New York Times bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater. All her life, Blue has been warned that she will cause her true love's death. She doesn't believe in true love and never thought this would be a problem, but as her life becomes caught up in the strange and sinister world of the Raven Boys, she's not so sure anymore. Book Breakdown Does anyone else feel cheated? I mean the kissing scenes? It was just blah kisses blah. No description whatsoever. I mean the whole series started with Blue being told she'd kill the one she loved with a kiss. Then the kiss is so just brushed over. It's like all this buildup and the payoff is not worth it at all. Same with Ronan and Adam, I wanted from them. Am I the only one that feels this way? Also they spend four books searching for this Welsh king and he's dead. Yeah that's the big ending I was waiting for... not. This ending was such a l

50/50 Friday - Best/Worst Food in Books

This meme is hosted by myself and the ever wonderful Laura from Blue Eye Books .  What is 50/50 Friday?  Everyone has a favorite and then we also have something we dislike. Like a coin, there are two sides to every question. Example: best sequel you've read/worst sequel you've read. Topic for the Week Best/Worst foods in books that you'd actually want to eat. I'm using Harry Potter today because that series has some really cool foods and drinks and some I'd never ever want to touch.  Worst Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans. Some of these sound really good like Watermelon or Candyfloss but then there are flavors like Rotten Egg or Vomit. Ewww so no thank you but I'd pass on this. I've got some bad luck and would only ever get the nasty ones. Best Chocolate Frogs!  I'd love these plus the cards would be so awesome to collect as well. I mean who doesn't love chocolate anyway?

November Wrap Up!

I read 8 book last month, which is pretty good considering I also did NaNoWriMo. So I'm taking this as a win! Here are the books I read last month. Have you read any of these? What did you think about them?

Waiting on Wednesday

This meme is hosted over at Breaking the Spine . I'm so into YA book coloring books right now and this one is going to be amazing!

Top Ten Tuesday - 2016 Favorites

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish . This list is going to show off my ten favorite reads this year. Not all were released this year but they are ones I read for the first time this year. So this is my list of favorites from 2106! Also, may 2017 be an even better reading year for me than this one.  10) My Soul to Take 9) Attack on Titan 8) The Winner's Curse 7) A Torch Against the Night 6) Clockwork Angel  5) An Ember in the Ashes 4) Clockwork Prince 3) Queen of Shadows  2) Heir of Fire  Now my favorite book of all the books I read in 2016 (and I read 146 this year so this list was really hard to make).  1) A Court of Mist and Fury  What were your favorite reads this year? Do you agree with any of the books on my list?

2017 Book Blog Discussion Challenge

So I did this for 2016 and I think I only ended up doing 2-3 of this posts and I want to do better in the coming year. I want to have more discussions with all of you.  The Levels 1-10 – Discussion Dabbler 11-20 – Creative Conversationalist 21-30 – Chatty Kathy 31-40 – Terrifically Talkative 41+ – Gift of the Gab I'm going to shoot for one a month, maybe more if I can. If any of you have ideas you'd like to see me discuss then let me know below. I'd love to hear what ideas you have because honestly, coming up with the topics are the hardest part for me. I'm so not creative. It's like the meme that Laura and I host, she comes up with 99% of all the topics. I know, I know, I really need to get better at this haha.

Merry Christmas!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend and a very Merry (or Happy) Christmas! I hope your surrounded by those you love most while eating some good food and opening all those wonderful gifts. Just try to remember that if you get a gift a you don't like that it's always the thought that counts and also some people aren't getting any gifts this year. Times are getting harder in the real world. My mother used to tell me that the two years we had Christmas. Yes, my family quit doing Christmas because of their religion. Some day I should really explain better than just saying that religion... nah. So anyway, ha ha. I hope all is well for you in the coming year, stay warm by the fireplace and enjoy the snow. If you've gotten any, sadly we won't have any. Anyone want to send some snow to me? I'll be your best friend forever.  Love and best wishes to all!

Blue Lily, Lily Blue - Review

The third installment in the all-new series from the #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater! Blue Sargent has found things. For the first time in her life, she has friends she can trust, a group to which she can belong. The Raven Boys have taken her in as one of their own. Their problems have become hers, and her problems have become theirs. The trick with found things, though, is how easily they can be lost. Book Breakdown  I'm so ready for Blue and Gansey to just get together already. Same for Adam and Ronan. They all just need to be happy together. I hope it all ends well for them. I'm rooting so hard for them! A lot happens in this installment, I've read some reviews that say this book is slower than the rest but I think it's a lot faster than any in the whole series. Even faster than The Raven King. The hunt for Blue's mum, Greenmantle with Piper, Adam's court date and everything else going on with him, finding Gwenllian, someone dies, and a

50/50 Friday - Sidekicks

This meme is hosted by myself and the every wonderful Laura from Blue Eye Books .  What is 50/50 Friday?  Everyone has a favorite and then we also have something we dislike. Like a coin, there are two sides to every question. Example: best sequel you've read/worst sequel you've read. Topic for this Week Sidekick deserving of a spinoff/better off with the group I'm going to use Sarah J Maas books for these choices as her characters were the first ones to come to mind.  First off. The sidekick I would love to see get her own spinoff would have to be Amren from A Court of Mist and Fury. There is so much I want to know about her, she's so badass, and yet so hidden in the darkness that I don't know much about her. I think she could carry a series on her own and I think she could do it perfectly!  This one might get me so backlash but the sidekick I think is better with the group and I don't think he needs his own novella is Chaol from Throne of Glass. I know everyone

The Playlist Shuffle Tag

If you have been around my blog for any length of time then you know how I much I love music. I often can't read without music, it just feels strange so when I saw this tag floating around, I knew I wanted to do it. I won't tag anyone in case you've all done it because it was an old but popular tag. So I just want to do it for myself. RULES Put your music on shuffle and list the first 15 songs to play (no cheating) then tag 10 others to do it as well. 1) How deep is Your Love? - Jessica Jung 2) Dare -Shakira 3) Wonderland - Sounds Like Harmoney 4) Come Together - The Beatles 5) Working Class Hero - John Lennon 6) Filthy Pride - Social Repose 7) I Got You - Bebe Rexha 8) Keep it Simple - Tove Lo 9) White Noise - PVRIS 10) Playing with Fire - BLACKPINK 11) Alarm - Anne-Marie 12) Starving - Hailee Steinfeld and Grey Featuring Zedd 13) Queen of Swords - Idina Menzel 14) Bury Me - Breathe Carolina 15) Lost in Paradise - Evanescence Now I'm not going to tag anyone because thi

Waiting on Wednesday

This meme is hosted over at Breaking the Spine . Did Jill quit blogging or something? Her website hasn't been updated since August. Does anyone know anything about this? If so, please let me know.  This week I'm waiting on a book that I'm sure everyone else wants as well.

The Dream Thieves - Review

The second installment in the all-new series from the masterful, #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater! Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after… Series: The Raven Cycle Read: November 14-17, 2016. Published: September 17th 2013 Publisher: Scholastic Press Page Count: 448  Book Breakdown  I want to start of by saying I usually hate slow books. I don't mind if they start slow to world build or to get to know the characters but if a book stays slow, I get bored. That is not the case with this series! These are the only slow books I've ever enjoyed. They are magical and beautiful. The characters are so real, they are the true stars of this seri

50/50 Friday - Animal sidekick

This meme is hosted by myself and the every wonderful Laura from Blue Eye Books .  What is 50/50 Friday?  Everyone has a favorite and then we also have something we dislike. Like a coin, there are two sides to every question. Example: best sequel you've read/worst sequel you've read. This week the topic is all about the animals in books. What animal sidekick would you want as a pet and one you would never want as a pet? This one was pretty easy to me.  The one I would want to keep as a pet would be Fleetfoot from Throne of Glass. I mean he's sweet, cute and oh so lovable. Who wouldn't want a Fleetfoot? The one I would never want would be Church. He's an evil little creature even if he is cute as could be. I mean... I don't think I could handle him as a pet even though I'm a cat person usually.  Next Week's Topic Sidekick deserving of a spinoff/better off with the group
