Devil in Spring (The Ravenels) - Book Breakdown

An eccentric wallflower… Most debutantes dream of finding a husband. Lady Pandora Ravenel has different plans. The ambitious young beauty would much rather stay at home and plot out her new board game business than take part in the London Season. But one night at a glittering society ball, she’s ensnared in a scandal with a wickedly handsome stranger. A cynical rake… After years of evading marital traps with ease, Gabriel, Lord St. Vincent, has finally been caught-by a rebellious girl who couldn’t be less suitable. In fact, she wants nothing to do with him. But Gabriel finds the high-spirited Pandora irresistible. He’ll do whatever it takes to possess her, even if their marriage of convenience turns out to be the devil’s own bargain. A perilous plot… After succumbing to Gabriel’s skilled and sensuous persuasion, Pandora agrees to become his bride. But soon she discovers that her entrepreneurial endeavors have accidentally involved her in a dangerous conspiracy—and only her husband can

9 Best Books of the Year... So Far!

It's July, the year is now half over, 2021 is flying so fast. I'm not ready for it. Which got me thinking, what really good books have I read this year? Well, let me show you. Just to let you know these aren't in a certain order. All five star reads. These are just the ones I loved the most.

Stepbrother Dearest - Book Breakdown

You’re not supposed to want the one who torments you. When my stepbrother, Elec, came to live with us my senior year, I wasn’t prepared for how much of a jerk he’d be. I hated that he took it out on me because he didn’t want to be here. I hated that he brought girls from our high school back to his room. But what I hated the most was the unwanted way my body reacted to him. At first, I thought all he had going for him were his rock-hard tattooed abs and chiseled face. Then, things started changing between us, and it all came to a head one night. Just as quickly as he’d come into my life, he was gone back to California. It had been years since I’d seen Elec. When tragedy struck our family, I’d have to face him again. And holy hell, the teenager who made me crazy was now a man that drove me insane. I had a feeling my heart was about to get broken again. Book Breakdown I read this book way past my bedtime and then after I got up, made breakfast for the family and took care of my daughter,

Falling for the Highlander - Book Breakdown

Lady Murine Carmichael has known her share of bad luck. But when her debt-ridden half-brother tries to sell her off in exchange for a few Scottish horses, it’s the final straw. If keeping her freedom means escaping through harsh countryside alone, so be it. She has barely begun her journey when she lands an unlikely escort—the brawny Highlander who just refused to buy her virtue. Dougall Buchanan was disgusted by Lord Danvries’ shameful offer, but Murine herself tempts him beyond measure. Even bedraggled and dusty, the lass glows with beauty and bravery. Dougall wants to do more than just help her flee. He wants to protect her—with his life and his heart—if she’ll only let him. For Murine may be pursued by a powerful foe, but nothing compares to the fiery courage of a Highlander in love.  Book Breakdown Meh. I could sum up this entire book with that one word. It’s not a terrible book, but it’s nothing special. Murine lives with her half brother but when he offers her company in exchang

Music Monday - Favorite Songs From The Hunger Games Soundtracks

This meme is hosted over at Always Me I recently rewatched The Hunger Games movies and was looking through the soundtracks. There are so many great songs! I wanted to share my two favorites. That's it for this week. Which was your favorite? Let me know below and have a great week!

The Dating Dare by Jayci Lee

Tara Park doesn’t do serious relationships. Neither does she hop into bed with virtual strangers. Especially when that particular stranger is her best friend’s new brother-in-law. It isn’t an easy decision, though. Seth Kim is temptation personified. His unreasonably handsome looks and charming personality makes him easy on the eyes and good for her ego. When a friendly game of Truth or Dare leads to an uncomplicated four-date arrangement with Seth, Tara can’t say she minds. But their dates, while sweet and sexy, have a tendency to hit roadblocks. Thankfully, their non-dates and chance meetings get frequent and heated. Seth is leaving for a new job in Paris in a month and a no-strings attached fling seemed like a nice little distraction for both… But soon Seth realizes that Tara Park doesn’t come in a “nice & little” package--she’s funny and bold, sweet and sexy, and everything he ever wanted and never expected to find. Neither of them are ready for something serious and both have

The Beast of Beswick - Book Breakdown

Beauty and the Beast meets Taming of the Shrew in this laugh-out-loud and heartfelt Regency romance. Lord Nathaniel Harte, the disagreeable Duke of Beswick, spends his days smashing porcelain, antagonizing his servants, and snarling at anyone who gets too close. With a ruined face like his, it's hard to like much about the world. Especially smart-mouthed harpies—with lips better suited to kissing than speaking—who brave his castle with indecent proposals. But Lady Astrid Everleigh will stop at nothing to see her younger sister safe from a notorious scoundrel, even if it means offering herself up on a silver platter to the forbidding Beast of Beswick himself. And by offer, she means what no highborn lady of sound and sensible mind would ever dream of—a tender of marriage with her as his bride. Book Breakdown  Astrid is very protective of her younger sister and would do anything to make sure she has a proper season. When her aunt and uncle declare her sister is to be married to the m

June Wrap Up!

I read 15 books last month! That may not sound like a lot but that's the most I've read in nearly a year. I'm really proud of myself! So without further ado, let's get to all the books!

Music Monday - Carriage Ride Though the Forest

This meme is hosted over at Always Me I hope all you Americans enjoyed the 4th. I couldn’t sleep till the fireworks ended. It triggers my PTSD. Plus, my Autistic daughter hates it too; it scares her. I’m glad I don’t have to worry about it for another year! I’ve been listening to these and reading lots of historical romance. I thought it fit with the tone nicely.

July TBR

I plan to read a lot of historical romance this month! It just seems to be what I'm in the mood for. I do have a lot of other stuff planned out. So let's get to the list, shall we?

It Happened One Summer - NetGalley Book Breakdown

Tessa Bailey is back with a Schitt’s Creek-inspired rom-com about a Hollywood “It Girl” who is cut off from her wealthy family and exiled to a small Pacific Northwest beach town... where she butts heads with a surly, sexy local who thinks she doesn’t belong.  Piper Bellinger is fashionable, influential, and her reputation as a wild child means the paparazzi are constantly on her heels. When too much champagne and an out-of-control rooftop party lands Piper in the slammer, her stepfather decides enough is enough. So he cuts her off, and sends Piper and her sister to learn some responsibility running their late father’s dive bar... in Washington. Piper hasn’t even been in Westport for five minutes when she meets big, bearded sea captain Brendan, who thinks she won’t last a week outside of Beverly Hills. So what if Piper can’t do math, and the idea of sleeping in a shabby apartment with bunk beds gives her hives. How bad could it really be? She’s determined to show her stepfather—and the
