November Plans

November is just a few days away, and I’ve got some major plans! Not only personal goals but cool stuff is going to happen here on the blog!  First off, November is my Blogoversary! This blog will turn 7 years old! Time is just flying by! I’m planning a giveaway to celebrate! I don’t know what books I will add to the giveaway yet, so stay tuned for that! Also in November, the next book in the Outlander series; Go Tell the Bees That I Am Gone is finally being released! I want to do an Outlander themed giveaway for that! I’m so excited to see what Claire and the gang are getting into!  I’m planning to do NaNoWriMo in November. Which is going to be tough because I’m still taking my class and with everything else life loves to throw at me. Also, there is American Thanksgiving, so it’s going to be a super busy month! Packed to the brim and I’m so excited about it! I may spread myself a little thin but I’m going to give it all my absolute best!  Next are my reading plans.... to be honest, I’

Music Monday - Classic Halloween

This meme is hosted over at Always Me Less than a week till Halloween!!!! Which is exciting and depressing all at once. I hate when Halloween is over because I go back to being a 'freak' or 'weirdo' and that sucks. But that's my life and I won't change who I am. I'm just so glad the holidays are upon us! It's really the best time of the year!  I hope you have a great week and the best Halloween ever! Stay safe, wear a mask and happy reading!

Something is Killing the Children Volume 1 - Review

When children begin to go missing in the town of Archer’s Peak, all hope seems lost until a mysterious woman arrives to reveal that terrifying creatures are behind the chaos - and that she alone will destroy them, no matter the cost. IT’S THE MONSTERS WHO SHOULD BE AFRAID. When the children of Archer's Peak—a sleepy town in the heart of America—begin to go missing, everything seems hopeless. Most children never return, but the ones that do have terrible stories—impossible details of terrifying creatures that live in the shadows. Their only hope of finding and eliminating the threat is the arrival of a mysterious stranger, one who believes the children and claims to be the only one who sees what they can see.  Her name is Erica Slaughter. She kills monsters. That is all she does, and she bears the cost because it must be done.  ************************************************* Book Breakdown Full disclosure. Going into this, I didn’t think it would be THIS good. The art looked outst

Music Monday - Recent Plays

This fun meme is hosted over at Always Me   I listened to a lot of music over this past week because I've been on fall break. It's been pretty good minus all the tornadoes and bad weather, but today the high was only around 70! That's amazing for this part of Oklahoma.  The music I've been vibing to is darker sounding songs since it's so close to Halloween! This year my partner and I are gonna crave pumpkins that always and then I'm gonna go with a friend on a train ride. She said she's done it before and it's fun. I'm hoping she'd right!  But for now, to the songs! Sooooooo what did you think? Let me know below and have a great week! Stay safe, wear a mask, and happy reading!

Reading Update!

It's been a long time since I've posted a reading update so I figured why not? I've not been reading a lot... I know! I planned to read so many great creepy books this month but it's been crazy with school, the covid scare, anxiety and with my playing Until Dawn twice to get the last of the trophies so I could platinum it.  I've also still been editing my stories and writing my annual October short horror story. So at least I've made progress somewhere!  I am currently reading The Hunting Party and Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. There's so many more I'm planning to read this month and I hope I get to it!  One thing I finished and loved was a horror graphic novel called Something is Killing the Children. It's amazing! I can't believe I've never read it yet! It is full of gore so if you can't stomach that then please don't read this one. It's even going to be made into a series for Netflix by the creator of The Haunting of

Music Monday - Calling All The Monsters

This meme is hosted over at Always Me Last week was pretty scary. My professor caught Covid, so he was out all week and then some of us in the class had to get tested because we’d been too close for too long. I had to get tested. Thankfully, it came back negative. I’m very nervous about going back today because I know he’ll be there and I don’t want him that close to me. Even though I wear my KN95 mask, it still makes me uncomfortable.  It sucks that my seat is front row... and he’s a spitter... all it takes is one droplet and bad things could happen.  Fall break starts for me this week, though I’m taking an extra day because I’ve got a medical test coming up. Fingers crossed its nothing serious. Friday I also got to go to the doctor with a family member. So a full week!  Wish me lots of luck!  But after the severe weather yesterday, it’s forecasted to be cooler. I really hope so! But this is Oklahoma, so I’m not holding my breath. Today I only have one song because I love it so much t

The ABC Challenge - The Letter B

Welcome to my second Alphabet Reading Challenge post!  I've decided to go all out with these posts. Not only sharing books but also movies, TV shows and even music. I do hope you'll join me as I take this deep dive.  Please comment below if you like any of these things or have any recommendations!

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phenix - Book Breakdown

There is a door at the end of a silent corridor. And it’s haunting Harry Pottter’s dreams. Why else would he be waking in the middle of the night, screaming in terror? Harry has a lot on his mind for this, his fifth year at Hogwarts: a Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher with a personality like poisoned honey; a big surprise on the Gryffindor Quidditch team; and the looming terror of the Ordinary Wizarding Level exams. But all these things pale next to the growing threat of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named - a threat that neither the magical government nor the authorities at Hogwarts can stop. As the grasp of darkness tightens, Harry must discover the true depth and strength of his friends, the importance of boundless loyalty, and the shocking price of unbearable sacrifice. His fate depends on them all.

Music Monday - Spooky Ambiance

This meme is hosted over at Always Me It’s finally October! One month of the year where people don’t look at me like I’m a freak! Or have any old men telling me to leave the state because they don’t want my ‘kind’ around. True Story.  So I love this time of year! From now till April it’s the best time of year for me. Cooler weather should also be on the way... soonish. I hope!  Anyway, let’s get to the meat of this post, shall we?  I’ve been reading The Hunting Party... it reminds me a lot of the video game Until Dawn and I am in love with it!  I’ve been listening to some really creepy ambiance while I read this book and play the game again. I wanted to share this with you and hope you enjoy it as much as I have been. As always, stay safe, happy reading, and wear a mask.
