Music Monday - Recent Songs Stuck in My Head

This meme is hosted by Always Me

Okay, we've got a mixed bag for today! A weird combo but I love both of these songs. I hope you'll like at least one of them.

Today is my first Certification test, I'm so freaking nervous I'll fail. Now, if I do fail, I get two more chances to pass so it wouldn't lock me out of getting the certification forever but it would set me behind for school next fall and I don't want to do that. So please wish me good luck!

This is also my lat week of school! Then I get summer break! Yay! More time to read and blog and blog hop and just have fun! I'm very excited!

But let's just get to the music, shall we?

Which are you vibing with more this morning? Let me know below! Have a great week and stay safe my friend!

Connect 5 Friday - Covers With Chicks In Black Dresses

It's been a few weeks since I did a Connect 5 Friday but I'm back!!! This is my last Friday in class! I only have two days left and I'm free!!

I'm very excited as I'm sure you can tell from all my exclamation marks. But that's not why we're here today. I wanted to share a cover trend that I really loved and miss. Pretty dresses on covers! I think trend is why I adore historical romance covers so much. I would dress in a stunning fancy dress every single day if I could.

Good Girl Complex - Book Review

She does everything right. So what could go wrong?

Mackenzie "Mac" Cabot is a people pleaser. Her demanding parents. Her prep school friends. Her long-time boyfriend. It's exhausting, really, always following the rules. Unlike most twenty-year-olds, all she really wants to do is focus on growing her internet business, but first she must get a college degree at her parents' insistence. That means moving to the beachside town of Avalon Bay, a community made up of locals and the wealthy students of Garnet College.

Mac's had plenty of practice suppressing her wilder impulses, but when she meets local bad boy Cooper Hartley, that ability is suddenly tested. Cooper is rough around the edges. Raw. Candid. A threat to her ordered existence. Their friendship soon becomes the realest thing in her life.

Despite his disdain for the trust-fund kids he sees coming and going from his town, Cooper soon realizes Mac isn't just another rich clone and falls for her. Hard. But as Mac finally starts feeling accepted by Cooper and his friends, the secret he's been keeping from her threatens the only place she's ever felt at home.

Book Review

Okay, I admit, I’ve been in a bit of a reading slump lately. Or maybe it’s just that I have no time to read after class and homework. Either way, I’ve not been reading a lot and when I do read I haven’t been enjoying it very much.

Well! This book changed that! It pulled me in right away with it’s She’s All That kinda vibe and I was hooked! I couldn’t stop reading and when I pulled my eyes away from the book, I couldn’t stop thinking about wanting to keep reading!

Here’s the low-down. Mac is being forced by her parents to go to a college she doesn’t want to go to. She’s already got her own money and doesn’t need them but she’s too nice to say anything. She’s also dating some loser who she doesn’t seem to get is a loser... until later when the plot needs her too, even though all the signs. (My only gripe with this book.)

Then we have Cooper. Sexy bad boy with full tattoo sleeves who’s trapped in the college town where the students treat him and his friends like peons. Everything’s set off because a stupid rich jerk gets Cooper fired and he wants revenge. He and his friends come up with the idea for Cooper to seduce the rich jerk’s girlfriend and get her to fall for Cooper and break up with her rich boyfriend, then dump her.

Only nothing goes to plan after he actually talks to Mac and sees she’s not the person he thought she’d be... now Cooper’s in much deeper than he ever expected and how long till it blows up in his face?

I loved these characters. So much. They each have their own family trauma and watching them bond over it was just sweet. It showed how much they were alike, even if their backgrounds were vastly different.

I loved being in his little seaside town and Cooper’s friends. Evan’s book can’t get here any faster! I already preordered and am counting down the days!

Onto the music, I've been mainly listening to K-Pop or Ambiances. So since I shared my Scottish Ambiances last week. This week you get K-Pop! I hope you enjoy.

Random Update!

Well, I have some good news. I did actually read a book this past week and I'm currently reading another one. Maybe this reading slump will soon be gone!

Just Finished

Currently Reading
I've also started trying to learn Irish. My library offers free Rosetta Stone for a few languages. I know Spanish would make the most sense for someone living in the USA, but Irish just sounded cool and I wanted to give it a go. Wish me luck!

I'm also studying hard for my certification for Adobe Illustrator on the 23rd of this month. I hope I get it but I have this classmate who never leaves me alone and is not only the teacher's favorite but the school's favorite so even though I told the teacher about her, she still won't leave me alone. But if I miss this test, I can take it again in the fall and she won't be there! So I can study freely and be left alone! Yay!

But I would like to get it before summer, would just be a great way to start my summer! So far, (knock on wood) my little kiddo hasn't gotten sick as I write this, I'm hoping so much that it stays that way! I hate seeing her sick and I really hate being sick as well. No fun at all.

I hope to have a review for next week or talk about books more, but that all depends on school. I really can't wait for school to be over. My last day is the 24th. Fingers crossed it goes by fast!

That's really it for this update. I hope you're having a great week! Tell me what book you're currently reading below and I'll see you next time! Stay safe!

Well, I hope you have a great week and stay safe! Until next time my friend!

Sunday Post (4)

I've had one heck of a week! Let me tell you! It started on the 24th, when my daughter started to get sick from only four days at ABA. They sure treated us a little roughly over that but I warned them before this started! I also got a little upset with them because they lied about keeping my kiddo in a room by herself with only toys she'd touched. Turns out they let her run and play all through the place and let her touch toys that others had.

And my kiddo doesn't just touch toys. She has what they call a 'mouthing' issue. She puts everything into her mouth. I mean EVERYTHING. They told us that they'd stop her from doing that. They said nothing would touch her mouth. Turns our they only stop her in she puts the item into her mouth... they let her rub it across her lips... then they turn around and get a little upset when I tell them she's sick and not coming.

But in the end we worked everything out. If/when she gets sick again, we'll switch to in-home therapy.

The 25th was my birthday.

Hey there! This is just a quick post to say that I'm sorry I've not been blog hopping on Sunday's like usual. Last week my family caught strep and a cold and I felt like the dead!

I'm feeling a little better now and plan to be blog hoping over this Sunday like normal. Stay safe and healthy my friend! I'll see you soon!

3 Bite Sized Reviews!

Imogen, the Queen of Hearts, is known for taking the hearts of those who betray her, including her servants. Her king, Rav, ventures to the mortal world to lure in new prey to replace their dwindling help. One bite, one simple exchange of her blood is all it will take for a mortal to become one of them. And this time, Rav chooses a girl named Alice.

I love Alice in Wonderland retellings or even new takes on the mythos. My favorite take on the story has to be Splintered but let me tell you if this series keeps going the way it’s going, then Vampires in Wonderland is going to be right there beside it!!! I mean come on! Alice in Wonderland, with vampires mixed with Candace Robinson’s unique and imaginary storytelling, is a win-win! My only complaint is I wanted more.

This series by Amber R. Duell and Candace Robinson is one to watch!

**I was given this novel in exchange for an honest review**

They ended their marriage, but they never fell out of love...

Law student Anita Virani hasn't seen her ex-husband since the ink dried on their divorce papers. Now she's agreed to pretend she's still married to Nikhil until his sister's wedding celebrations are over -- because her former mother-in-law neglected to tell her family of their split! The closeness they share during the marriage act gives Anita new insight into the man she once loved so deeply. And reignites Nikhil's feelings for her...

Book Breakdown

***I won this book through an Instagram live chat held by the author***

Let me state the obvious, I'm not usually into second chance romance. There are a few I like but the story has to be really good for me to enjoy it. By the rating, you can tell that this story is one of those few second chance romances that I actually enjoy!

If you're looking for a wonderful second chance diverse romance. You need this ASAP! You'll adore it!

I can't wait to read more by this author.

Two sisters. Two loves. And a secret that can destroy them both.

For years, Silver has used her magic to draw the same human soul, Keelen, from the afterlife and place him into a wax raven she created. Each visit, her impossible relationship with Keelen deepened, leading Silver to want more than friendship. Yet it isn’t until after Silver and her queen sister, Afton, are forced to defend themselves from an enemy king's guards, that Silver discovers a way to give Keelen human life and become Afton’s weapon.

Afton had never given her heart to another … until she met Ragan. Just when it seems she’s found true love, she must temporarily push her feelings aside and accept a betrothal contract from the enemy king to keep her territory safe. But when Afton uncovers a danger that threatens all she has built, the sisters must put a stop to it before everything they love, including their sisterly bond, shatters.

Book Breakdown

I swear, if you’ve ever read a novel by Candace Robinson, then you know her style right off the bat! It’s so dark and twisted and yet romantic and swoon worthy. It’s such a delicious combo! This book follows that wonderful pattern yet adds such a wonderful sister relationship that reminds me so much of Frozen. I’ve been into books recently with families that truly care for one another and would do anything to save them and this story fits right in with that!

I honestly can’t help but wish I had that kind of relationship with anyone in my family. It’s unbelievably sweet. Plus, throw in the dark fantasy that this author’s known for and you have one heck of a wicked good novel! Loved this one!

***I received this novel in exchange for an honest review***

Well that's it for this one! Have you read any of these? If not, what are you currently reading? Let me know below and have a wonderful day!

5 Friday - Twist Endings

So the five can be connections of any kind. Books can have been read last year or any year. Books can be used more than once. They may not have been read yet. They might be ones you just bought or want to buy.  It can be as simple or as complicated as you like. Maybe it’s not a list of actual books, but things connected to books – e.g. favourite book shops, recipes etc. It might even be five movies related to books or five poems or five poets or five bookish moments, five thoughts about reading – be creative! - The Book Date

Today I wanted to share five books with killer twist endings! Let's not waste any time!

Where were you on October 1st at 3:03 pm?

Graphic artist Clay Riddell was in the heart of Boston on that brilliant autumn afternoon when hell was unleashed before his eyes. Without warning, carnage and chaos reigned. Ordinary people fell victim to the basest, most animalistic destruction.

And the apocalypse began with the ring of a cell phone...

Marriage can be a real killer.

On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?

As the cops close in, every couple in town is soon wondering how well they know the one that they love. With his twin sister, Margo, at his side, Nick stands by his innocence. Trouble is, if Nick didn’t do it, where is that beautiful wife? And what was in that silvery gift box hidden in the back of her bedroom closet?

With her razor-sharp writing and trademark psychological insight, Gillian Flynn delivers a fast-paced, devilishly dark, and ingeniously plotted thriller that confirms her status as one of the hottest writers around.

One of the most critically acclaimed suspense writers of our time, New York Times bestseller Gillian Flynn takes that statement to its darkest place in this unputdownable masterpiece about a marriage gone terribly, terribly wrong. The Chicago Tribune proclaimed that her work “draws you in and keeps you reading with the force of a pure but nasty addiction.” Gone Girl’s toxic mix of sharp-edged wit and deliciously chilling prose creates a nerve-fraying thriller that confounds you at every turn.

Chuck Palahniuk showed himself to be his generation’s most visionary satirist in this, his first book. Fight Club’s estranged narrator leaves his lackluster job when he comes under the thrall of Tyler Durden, an enigmatic young man who holds secret after-hours boxing matches in the basement of bars. There, two men fight "as long as they have to." This is a gloriously original work that exposes the darkness at the core of our modern world.

The year is 1954. U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels and his new partner, Chuck Aule, have come to Shutter Island, home of Ashecliffe Hospital for the Criminally Insane, to investigate the disappearance of a patient. Multiple murderess Rachel Solando is loose somewhere on this remote and barren island, despite having been kept in a locked cell under constant surveillance. As a killer hurricane relentlessly bears down on them, a strange case takes on even darker, more sinister shades—with hints of radical experimentation, horrifying surgeries, and lethal countermoves made in the cause of a covert shadow war. No one is going to escape Shutter Island unscathed, because nothing at Ashecliffe Hospital is what it seems. But then neither is Teddy Daniels.

First, there were ten—a curious assortment of strangers summoned as weekend guests to a little private island off the coast of Devon. Their host, an eccentric millionaire unknown to all of them, is nowhere to be found. All that the guests have in common is a wicked past they're unwilling to reveal—and a secret that will seal their fate. For each has been marked for murder. A famous nursery rhyme is framed and hung in every room of the mansion:

"Ten little boys went out to dine; One choked his little self and then there were nine. Nine little boys sat up very late; One overslept himself and then there were eight. Eight little boys traveling in Devon; One said he'd stay there then there were seven. Seven little boys chopping up sticks; One chopped himself in half and then there were six. Six little boys playing with a hive; A bumblebee stung one and then there were five. Five little boys going in for law; One got in Chancery and then there were four. Four little boys going out to sea; A red herring swallowed one and then there were three. Three little boys walking in the zoo; A big bear hugged one and then there were two. Two little boys sitting in the sun; One got frizzled up and then there was one. One little boy left all alone; He went out and hanged himself and then there were none."

When they realize that murders are occurring as described in the rhyme, terror mounts. One by one they fall prey. Before the weekend is out, there will be none. Who has choreographed this dastardly scheme? And who will be left to tell the tale? Only the dead are above suspicion.

The Good Girl's Guide to Rakes - Review

When Kieran Ransome’s latest antics result in a massive scandal, his father issues an ultimatum: find a respectable wife or inherit nothing. But as one of London’s most inveterate scoundrels, Kieran doesn’t know any ladies who fit the bill. Or does he?

Celeste Kilburn is a society darling, beloved by influential members of the ton. But keeping a spotless reputation leaves little room for adventure and she longs to escape her gilded cage, especially with her impending engagement to a stuffy earl. When Kieran—her older brother’s best friend and an irresistibly attractive rogue—begs for her help, Celeste makes a deal: she’ll introduce him to the right social circles if he’ll show her the scandalous side of London.

In between proper teas and garden parties, Kieran escorts Celeste—disguised as “Salome”—to rowdy gaming hells, wild fêtes, and sensual art salons. As they spend more time together, their initial attraction builds to a desperate desire that neither can ignore. But when someone discovers their midnight exploits, Celeste’s freedom and reputation are endangered, and Kieran must save the woman he loves… respectable or not.

Book Breakdown

Celeste is a good girl. Since her family came from nothing, their reputation rides on her shoulders. Which means she’s going to marry into a titled family. Sadly, she doesn’t love the man and just wants to be free.

Kieran is a rake, and his family has had enough. They told him to wed a good girl or get cut off from the family. So he needs a good girl to help him change his reputation.

These two make a deal. Celeste will help Kieran and in return, he’ll show her freedom. They develop a friendship that quickly spins into much more. Then they have to fight off their feelings because they know no one would allow them to work for them. But sometimes love has a way of changing all your plans.

As the two put their plans into action, they can’t help but give into the lust between them, and it develops into something neither can ignore.

I really enjoyed this book, found it very hard to put down, but what keeps it from being a full five star story is the ending. Now, it’s a romance and by now, everyone who reads romance knows that you get an HEA and that’s something I adore about romance but this ending was just too rushed... the rest of the story’s paced very well but the ending just seem to run full steam ahead with no breaks and it felt out of place. I think the author should’ve extended it a little and given it some room to breathe.

That being said, a wonderful book in a new series and I can’t wait to read the rest!

Music Monday - (More) Ambience

This meme is hosted over at Always Me

Hello and welcome to another... Monday. Ugh, don’t you just hate Monday? I had a three-day weekend, so I got to sleep in some and that makes getting up early to get to class even harder.

How was your weekend? Mine started off rough. My grandmama had a minor heart attack and had to have a stint put in, but she seems to do okay now. I really hope it stays that way. Prayers/positive energy would be very much appreciated.

But today I wanted to share some ambiences that just really relax me. I hope you enjoy them!

Which was your favorite? Let me know below and I hope you have a wonderful week! Stay safe out there!

Mid April Reading Update (Four Thousand Days, Manga, When He Was Wicked)

Since I've actually read a few books this month and the last part of March I actually have something to share with you! I'm as stunned as you are!

Let's go!

When I saw this floating around the blog world, it caught my eye. Mainly for the name Margaret Murray. If cause you know nothing about her, some say she’s the mother of witches and same say her work was discredited

Either way, she brought witchcraft into the mainstream during her time and she was a first wave feminist. So she was an important figure in history either way.

So, I had to read this book! I enjoyed it, but it wasn’t what I hoped it would. The writing was a little weird to me and took me a bit to get into the story because of it. You can tell a man wrote it for sure. But once you get into the flow, it’s not so bad anymore.

The story itself was pretty interesting, and I enjoyed the time because I’ve been into historical books as of late. I won’t give away any plot since this is a mystery and I hate when those get spoiled for me.

Overall, a good book, but nothing out of the water.

I'm continuing with this series and still enjoying it so far! It's very fanciful and a bit like Twilight. I'm more eager to learn about Ren rather than the main vampire that I know our MC is gonna get with in the end.

Now, I'm not going to talk a lot about this one because I do have a post about Bridgerton coming soon and my thoughts will be there. But I did like this one!

That's all for this wrap up! Tell me what you've been reading this month? Anything good? Let me know below and have a great day!

Vampire Dormitory Volume 1 - Review

"I'll do it! I'll become your thrall!" A crossdressing girl and an otaku vampire find themselves entangled in a dangerous relationship. Don't miss this heart-pounding romance from the award-winning Ema Toyama, perfect for fans of Crimson Spell, Black Bird, and He's My Only Vampire!

Mito has no family to rely on. She lives on the streets, disguised as a boy. Ruka is an otaku vampire interested only in 2D girls. After Ruka saves Mito from a perilous situation, he makes her an offer: "Become my subservient thrall and let me drink your blood whenever I wish! In return, you can live with me—in the boys' dorm!" But to stay with him, Mito must hide the fact that she's a girl. Every day is a new danger—to say nothing of that bloodthirsty vampire!

Book Breakdown

No one loves or wants Mito. She’s barely surviving but when a vampire decides to make her his thrall with the promise of loving her until her sour blood ripens, she jumps head first into the deal. Only the vampire, Ruka, doesn’t know she’s a girl.

Mito cross dresses to keep herself safe. People leave her alone more as a boy. There’s no way she could ever tell Ruka the truth because he says that he doesn’t drink from women. But one day, he’s going to find his mate and her blood will be the sweetest of all.

Then there’s Ren, he knows that Ruka is a vampire and wants to keep Mito safe. He doesn't explain why he knows Ruka's secret but Mito trusts him right away.

Add all this up and it feels like a more immature version of Vampire Knight, which is one of my favorite mangas ever. So I'll be devouring every volume out right now!

Friday 5 - Duke Romances

So the five can be connections of any kind. Books can have been read last year or any year. Books can be used more than once. They may not have been read yet. They might be ones you just bought or want to buy.  It can be as simple or as complicated as you like. Maybe it’s not a list of actual books, but things connected to books – e.g. favourite book shops, recipes etc. It might even be five movies related to books or five poems or five poets or five bookish moments, five thoughts about reading – be creative! - The Book Date

This is the book that inspired this list. I've been rewatching the first season of Bridgerton to get ready for the next season that dropped today! I've not seen it yet so no spoilers please! But I'm so freaking excited to get class over with and watch!

But let's keep going with this list!

Miss Katherine Danvers is a desperate wallflower. Her family is on the brink of financial ruin, and it is up her to save her mother and sisters from a life of indignities. So she transforms herself into the incomparable Kitty Danvers, the fiancée of the enigmatic and reclusive Alexander Masters, Duke of Thornton—once dubbed the mad, bad, and dangerous catch of the Season.

Ten years ago, society and the woman Alexander Masters loved called him a monster, after a tragic accident left him scarred and confined to a wheelchair. His heart exists in cold, lonely exile, until he learns he has a fiancée—a deceptive, clever, and utterly intriguing woman he's never met. Miss Danvers will now learn the consequences of engaging herself to the beast, for Alexander is determined to make her his. Soon, they are involved in a chase, a clash of wills, and though he once vowed to never love again, he burns for the enchanting Miss Danvers. And denying his heart may cost him an exquisite love that happens only once in a lifetime.

When Devil, the most infamous member of the Cynster family, is caught in a compromising position with plucky governess Honoria Wetherby, he astonishes the entire town by offering his hand in marriage. No one dreamed this scandalous rake would ever take a bride. And as society mamas swooned at the loss of England′s most eligible bachelor, Devil′s infamous Cynster cousins began to place wagers on the wedding date.

But Honoria wasn′t about to bend society′s demands and marry a man "just" because they′d been found together virtually unchaperoned. No, she craved adventure, and while solving the murder of a young Cynster cousin fit the bill for a while, she decided that once the crime was solved she′d go off to see the world. But the scalding heat of her unsated desire for Devil soon had Honoria craving a very different sort of excitement. Could her passion for Devil cause her to embrace the enchanting peril of a lifelong adventure of the heart?

A handsome and reclusive horse breeder, Spencer Dumarque, the fourth Duke of Morland, is a member of the exclusive Stud Club, an organization so select it has only ten members--yet membership is attainable to anyone with luck. And Spencer has plenty of it, along with an obsession with a prize horse, a dark secret, and, now, a reputation as the dashing "Duke of Midnight." Each evening he selects one lady for a breathtaking midnight waltz. But none of the women catch his interest, and nobody ever bests the duke--until Lady Amelia d'Orsay tries her luck.

In a moment of desperation, the unconventional beauty claims the duke's dance and unwittingly steals his heart. When Amelia demands that Spencer forgive her scapegrace brother's debts, she never imagines that her game of wits and words will lead to breathless passion and a steamy proposal. Still, Spencer is a man of mystery, perhaps connected to the shocking murder of the Stud Club's founder. Will Amelia lose her heart in this reckless wager or win everlasting love?

Jessica McGale's family business desperately needs investors, and she's determined to succeed at any cost. But she knows London's elite will never look twice at a humble farm girl like herself. Posing as “Lady Whitfield,” however, places her in the orbit of wealthy, powerful people—most notably the Duke of Rotherby. His influence and support could save her company, but Jess never expected the effect he'd have on her.

Society thinks Noel is a notorious, carefree duke who dabbles in investments, but there's a side to him that only his closest friends see. When he crosses paths with Lady Whitfield at a business bazaar, his world tilts on its axis. She's brilliant and compelling, and brings him to his knees like no woman has before. Trust is difficult for Noel, but Jess makes him believe anything is possible...

As time ticks down on her Cinderella scheme, the thought of achieving her goal at Noel's expense breaks Jess' heart. He doesn't just want her now, he wants her forever. But will her secret end their future before it begins?

Have you read any of these? Are you a fan of the Bridgerton TV show? Let me know below! Stay safe and have a great day!

A Webtoon & A Manga Walk Into A Bar... (Book Reviews)

Well hello there. Welcome. You might be shocked that today I have two reviews and my friend, you're not alone. I actually read something! *Insert fireworks here*

I've been in such a terrible reading slump and it seems I'm coming out of it... very slowly.

So I decided to pick up something easy to read, to ease myself back into the grind. That's where the two stars of this post today come into play! Let's go!

I’ve been seeing this going around everywhere and I finally caved and read the first volume. It does a great job of sucking you in. I didn’t even know how much I’d read till I flipped to the end and saw there was nothing left.

I love the colors chosen, rich and dark with neon thrown in. It’s not something I’ve seen before. The only problem I had with this series at all was the art. Sometimes I just wasn’t the biggest fan of how something was drawn. It would be unclear to me what was going on or it just made me cringe.

But that’s easy enough to overlook. This series is great and I can’t wait to read more!

This has a lot of tropes in it. Girl pretending to be a boy. Boy who says he can’t care about anyone but then it turns out he cares for the MC. Protective side character that causes lots of drama. This has it all! Plus vampires and great art! Honestly, what more could I ask for?

Have you read either of these? Do any of them sound good to you? Let me know! I hope you stay safe and have a great day!

Music Monday - Lindsey Stirling

This meme is hosted by Always Me

I have to confess that I came up with the idea to share Lindsey Stirling from Mary at Dark Thoughts. She shared a Lindsey Stirling song and that got me listening to her again. I love her music so much.

Which was your favorite? Do you like Lindsey Stirling or is this your first time hearing her? Let me know below! Have a great week!

The Sunday Post

Well, hello there. This is my third ever Sunday Post. I’m usually so bad at keeping up with memes, even if I adore them.

My spring break flew by in twister of illness and bad mental health. I ended up going to Urgent Care twice in one week and am only now feeling a little better. I’m still not at 100% but with each day I felt a little better. Don’t worry, it’s not Covid.

I’m nervous about going back to school tomorrow, before Spring Break my seat mate was gone all week and I told my instructor that I wanted to move desks. So tomorrow will be the first time that this person will see I’m not sitting beside them. I’m just trying to stay out of drama. It was this or I’m going to blow up at them.

I know this might sound overdramatic, but this person and I just don’t mesh well and I’ve been biting my tongue around them for months. So the idea of tomorrow has my stomach in knots. Hopefully, it all goes peacefully and I can just focus on my class.

I’ve not been reading a lot. I’m still in a reading slump from the book that I read with my seat mate because I have a hard time saying no to people.

But I finished one book last week!

Now onto something really positive. My partner had a producer reach out to him about one of his scripts! His very first full length script! He signed the contract, and the producer is reaching out to his investors and such. It’s all very low budget but it might make it into Sundance!

This follows another of his shorts getting made.

I'm very proud and happy for him. He's been writing screenplays for so long that it's nice he's getting some recognition! I really hope this could be the start of a promising career for him. I know it's what he's always wanted to do.

So tell me, how was your week? Anything special going on? What have you been reading? Let me know below!

Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless Lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . . Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg.

She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

Alyssa Gardner hears the whispers of bugs and flowers—precisely the affliction that landed her mother in a mental hospital years before. This family curse stretches back to her ancestor Alice Liddell, the real-life inspiration for Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Alyssa might be crazy, but she manages to keep it together. For now.

When her mother’s mental health takes a turn for the worse, Alyssa learns that what she thought was fiction is based in terrifying reality. The real Wonderland is a place far darker and more twisted than Lewis Carroll ever let on. There, Alyssa must pass a series of tests, including draining an ocean of Alice’s tears, waking the slumbering tea party, and subduing a vicious bandersnatch, to fix Alice’s mistakes and save her family. She must also decide whom to trust: Jeb, her gorgeous best friend and secret crush, or the sexy but suspicious Morpheus, her guide through Wonderland, who may have dark motives of his own.

Beauty knows the Beast’s forest in her bones—and in her blood. Though she grew up with the city’s highest aristocrats, far from her father’s old lodge, she knows that the forest holds secrets and that her father is the only hunter who’s ever come close to discovering them.

So when her father loses his fortune and moves Yeva and her sisters back to the outskirts of town, Yeva is secretly relieved. Out in the wilderness, there’s no pressure to make idle chatter with vapid baronessas…or to submit to marrying a wealthy gentleman. But Yeva’s father’s misfortune may have cost him his mind, and when he goes missing in the woods, Yeva sets her sights on one prey: the creature he’d been obsessively tracking just before his disappearance.

Deaf to her sisters’ protests, Yeva hunts this strange Beast back into his own territory—a cursed valley, a ruined castle, and a world of creatures that Yeva’s only heard about in fairy tales. A world that can bring her ruin or salvation. Who will survive: the Beauty, or the Beast?

Lorelai Diederich, crown princess and fugitive at large, has one mission: kill the wicked queen who took both the Ravenspire throne and the life of her father. To do that, Lorelai needs to use the one weapon she and Queen Irina have in common—magic. She’ll have to be stronger, faster, and more powerful than Irina, the most dangerous sorceress Ravenspire has ever seen.

In the neighboring kingdom of Eldr, when Prince Kol’s father and older brother are killed by an invading army of magic-wielding ogres, the second-born prince is suddenly given the responsibility of saving his kingdom. To do that, Kol needs magic—and the only way to get it is to make a deal with the queen of Ravenspire, promise to become her personal huntsman…and bring her Lorelai’s heart.

But Lorelai is nothing like Kol expected—beautiful, fierce, and unstoppable—and despite dark magic, Lorelai is drawn in by the passionate and troubled king. Fighting to stay one step ahead of the dragon huntsman—who she likes far more than she should—Lorelai does everything in her power to ruin the wicked queen. But Irina isn’t going down without a fight, and her final move may cost the princess the one thing she still has left to lose.

Feyre's survival rests upon her ability to hunt and kill – the forest where she lives is a cold, bleak place in the long winter months. So when she spots a deer in the forest being pursued by a wolf, she cannot resist fighting it for the flesh. But to do so, she must kill the predator and killing something so precious comes at a price ...

Dragged to a magical kingdom for the murder of a faerie, Feyre discovers that her captor, his face obscured by a jewelled mask, is hiding far more than his piercing green eyes would suggest. Feyre's presence at the court is closely guarded, and as she begins to learn why, her feelings for him turn from hostility to passion and the faerie lands become an even more dangerous place. Feyre must fight to break an ancient curse, or she will lose him forever.
