Music Monday - 5SOS

This meme is hosted by Always Me A lot has happened since last Music Monday! It’s been crazy! I finished my last week of class for the summer and got my first of three certifications for the Adobe Suite applications in Graphic Design! I was so nervous but ended up doing great!  That was a great way to start off the summer! Such a rush!  But naturally, life had to be a butthead. My kiddo finally got over her last cold/cough last Thursday and my partner and I decided we wanted to switch her service in-home so she wouldn’t get sick anymore. They’ve told us twice that we could do in-home, and they’d support her needs. Now we’ve got a Zoom meeting tomorrow that they named “conflict’.  I’m an anxious mess, scared they are going to make us choose between her mental health and her physical health... not to mention our health, because unless we treat her like a pariah, (which is just heartbreaking and cruel), we get sick as well.  Before Covid hit and school went online, she was sickly skinny a

What Book Changed Your Life?

I don't often post discussions and I want to change that. Today's topic is really a simple question. What book(s) changed your life?  I'll start. I have two different books that changed my life.  Now, I read the school books, like The Giver (it was the first book that I really loved) and enjoyed it but until I found this book, I didn't know books like this were a thing. Just books to entertain that contained vampires! This book kicked off my love of reading for pure entertainment. I've never looked back. I've told this story before on the blog so I'll keep it short and sweet! I was in Waldenbooks (before they closed down) and saw the art of this book. It sucked me in. This was the first manga I ever read but it would not be the last!  Without this book I don't know if I'd be reading and loving manga. So thank you Vampire Knight!  So that's it for me. Tell me below, which books changed your life? Or like in the case with Vampire Knight, which book

Currently Reading

I don't usually do these kinds of posts but since I have no book review this week, I wanted to share what I'm reading. Here we go! What begins as a test of bravery or a sleepover activity—chanting in front of a mirror, riding an elevator alone, taking pictures in the dark—can become something . . . dangerous. The most spine-chilling games based on urban legends from around the world: Centuries-old games such as Bloody Mary, Light as a Feather, and Stiff as a Board are detailed alongside new games from the internet age, like The Answer Man, a sinister voice that whispers secrets to whoever manages to contact him with a cellphone. • Features step-by-step instructions, historical context, and the stakes for each game—including objective, risk level, reward, and additional warnings • Includes chilling and dark illustrations throughout that intensify the mysteries of each game • Discover a variety of dangerous games including ones you can do in a group or on your own A guide to summ

Music Monday - Recent Songs Stuck in My Head

This meme is hosted by Always Me Okay, we've got a mixed bag for today! A weird combo but I love both of these songs. I hope you'll like at least one of them.  Today is my first Certification test, I'm so freaking nervous I'll fail. Now, if I do fail, I get two more chances to pass so it wouldn't lock me out of getting the certification forever but it would set me behind for school next fall and I don't want to do that. So please wish me good luck!  This is also my lat week of school! Then I get summer break! Yay! More time to read and blog and blog hop and just have fun! I'm very excited!  But let's just get to the music, shall we?  Which are you vibing with more this morning? Let me know below! Have a great week and stay safe my friend!

Connect 5 Friday - Covers With Chicks In Black Dresses

It's been a few weeks since I did a Connect 5 Friday but I'm back!!! This is my last Friday in class! I only have two days left and I'm free!! I'm very excited as I'm sure you can tell from all my exclamation marks. But that's not why we're here today. I wanted to share a cover trend that I really loved and miss. Pretty dresses on covers! I think trend is why I adore historical romance covers so much. I would dress in a stunning fancy dress every single day if I could.

Good Girl Complex - Book Review

She does everything right. So what could go wrong? Mackenzie "Mac" Cabot is a people pleaser. Her demanding parents. Her prep school friends. Her long-time boyfriend. It's exhausting, really, always following the rules. Unlike most twenty-year-olds, all she really wants to do is focus on growing her internet business, but first she must get a college degree at her parents' insistence. That means moving to the beachside town of Avalon Bay, a community made up of locals and the wealthy students of Garnet College. Mac's had plenty of practice suppressing her wilder impulses, but when she meets local bad boy Cooper Hartley, that ability is suddenly tested. Cooper is rough around the edges. Raw. Candid. A threat to her ordered existence. Their friendship soon becomes the realest thing in her life. Despite his disdain for the trust-fund kids he sees coming and going from his town, Cooper soon realizes Mac isn't just another rich clone and falls for her. Hard. But as

Music Monday - Taemin

This meme is hosted by Always Me I want to start off by saying Happy Birthday to my wonderful partner! He never reads my blog but on the off chance he might. I want him to know that I'm thinking about him today.  Onto the music, I've been mainly listening to K-Pop or Ambiances. So since I shared my Scottish Ambiances last week. This week you get K-Pop! I hope you enjoy.   Which one is your favorite? Let me know below and I hope you have a great week! Stay safe!

Random Update!

Well, I have some good news. I did actually read a book this past week and I'm currently reading another one. Maybe this reading slump will soon be gone!  Just Finished Currently Reading I've also started trying to learn Irish. My library offers free Rosetta Stone for a few languages. I know Spanish would make the most sense for someone living in the USA, but Irish just sounded cool and I wanted to give it a go. Wish me luck! I'm also studying hard for my certification for Adobe Illustrator on the 23rd of this month. I hope I get it but I have this classmate who never leaves me alone and is not only the teacher's favorite but the school's favorite so even though I told the teacher about her, she still won't leave me alone. But if I miss this test, I can take it again in the fall and she won't be there! So I can study freely and be left alone! Yay! But I would like to get it before summer, would just be a great way to start my summer! So far, (knock on wood)

Music Monday - Scottish Ambiance

This meme is hosted by Always Me I've been listening to a lot of stuff this week, it's keep me sane. I only have a few weeks left of school! I'm so excited for the summer, I have so many plans!  But until then, I'll just continue to listen to some awesome Scottish ambiance and try to get through it.  Well, I hope you have a great week and stay safe! Until next time my friend!

Music Monday - Songs for Sad People

Sunday Post (4)

I've had one heck of a week! Let me tell you! It started on the 24th, when my daughter started to get sick from only four days at ABA. They sure treated us a little roughly over that but I warned them before this started! I also got a little upset with them because they lied about keeping my kiddo in a room by herself with only toys she'd touched. Turns out they let her run and play all through the place and let her touch toys that others had.  And my kiddo doesn't just touch toys. She has what they call a 'mouthing' issue. She puts everything into her mouth. I mean EVERYTHING. They told us that they'd stop her from doing that. They said nothing would touch her mouth. Turns our they only stop her in she puts the item into her mouth... they let her rub it across her lips... then they turn around and get a little upset when I tell them she's sick and not coming.  But in the end we worked everything out. If/when she gets sick again, we'll switch to in-home
